8 Days Bhutan Cultural Tour
Introduction
This trip will appeal to anyone who wishes to combine cultural exploration and spectacular mountain views. Join us on an exploration of western Bhutan with extension to Haa Valley, visiting many of the most beautiful and interesting natural and cultural sites. This trip will also take you to Talo and Nongang Villages for a glimpse of village life and to meet locals.
Itinerary
The flight to Bhutan provides during a clear weather the most fascinating view of Himalayan scenery. On arrival in Paro, you will be greeted by our representative and escorted you to hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Rinpung Dzong, the 15th century massive fortress which now serves as administrative center of the valley. From the Dzong, you can walk down to the road head crossing a traditional wooden bridge. From here, you will be taken to Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and the most sacred shrine in the country. In the evening, you can stroll in Paro town.
Today, drive to Haa Valley across Chelela Pass (3810m) dotted with colorful Buddhist prayer flags and offering stunning views of Mount Jumolhari and other mountains, plus incredible vistas into the valleys below the pass. Drive downhill from pass is through the forests of blue pine, fir and oak. In the afternoon, explore local villages, visit their homes and meet the families.
Drive to Thimphu, capital city of Bhutan through beautiful villages and pine forests. It is a pleasurable ride, with many optional stops along the road. After passing Dobji Dzong, road descends and joins the main road at Chhuzom. You will stop here and see local farmers sit by the side of the road selling vegetables, apples and dried cheese. Check into hotel on arrival. Evening, you can take walk in Thimphu city.
Enjoy scenic drive to Punakha. Stop at Dochula pass (3150 meters) where on a clear day you can get spectacular views of the Himalayas. When you arrive at Metshina Village, you can take 20-minute walk through rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang, the Divine Madman’s temple popularly considered to be a temple of fertility. Take lunch in one of the restaurants and continue drive to Punakha. On arrival, visit Punakha Dzong, which is noteworthy for being one of the most beautiful Dzongs in Bhutan.
Drive up the hilly road to explore Talo village and Nobgang village, the home of the Queen mothers. The villages, which are scattered along the hill slopes, are known for its cleanliness and hygiene among Punakha villages. Locals will be happy to have you sneaked into their homes for cup of tea and to learn how they live in villages. Then return to the valley and then drive to Wangdue to visit the unique clustered houses of Rinchengang Village. Overnight in hotel.
Drive back to Paro, crossing the Dochula Pass and enjoying stunning views of the Himalayas. Stop in Thimphu for lunch and then continue drive to Paro. In Paro, visit local archery ground and watch locals playing archery.
Embark on a vigorous hike up to the Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) monastery, the most famous pilgrim site, which clings to the rock at 3180m. According to the legend, it is believed that Guru Rimpoche, the 8th century Spiritual Master, flew to this location on the back of a tigress to meditate. Lunch will be served at Cafeteria Restaurant halfway up on the mountain. Explore the monastery and hike back to Paro.
In the morning, you will drive to the airport for departure. Our representative will bid you farewell.

Bhutan visa assistance and travel permit arrangements are included in the package to ensure a smooth and hassle-free travel experience. Our team manages the required documentation process according to Bhutan tourism regulations before your arrival.
All ground transportation during the tour is included. Private vehicles will be provided for airport transfers, sightseeing tours, and travel between destinations, ensuring safe, comfortable, and convenient travel throughout Bhutan.
An experienced local English-speaking tour guide will accompany you during the tour to provide cultural insights, historical information, and assistance throughout the journey, helping you explore Bhutan more deeply and comfortably.
The package includes Bhutan’s mandatory Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of US$100 per adult, per night. This fee supports Bhutan’s environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and sustainable tourism initiatives.
International airfare and flight tickets are not included in the tour package. Travelers are responsible for booking their own international flights to and from Bhutan.
Laundry, dry cleaning, and other hotel room service charges are not included and will be charged separately according to hotel policies.
Personal expenses such as shopping, beverages, snacks, phone calls, and other individual purchases are not included in the tour package.
